Cilantro Turkey Burgers with Chipotle-Lime Mayonnaise

Serves 4


1 ½ pounds ground turkey
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 scallions, thinly sliced
1 packet Savory Choice
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Chipotle-Lime Mayonnaise:
¼ cup mayonnaise
Juice of 1 lime
2 minced chipotle chiles in adobo sauce

To serve:
4 whole-wheat hamburger buns
1 large, ripe tomato, sliced into thick rounds
1 medium, ripe avocado, sliced into wedges
4 lettuce leaves


Preheat a grill (or a grill pan or skillet) to medium-high heat.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, scallions, Savory Choice Turkey Broth Concentrate, cumin, salt, and pepper and mix well. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1-inch thick.

Cook the burgers on the preheated grill until browned on the bottom, about 5 minutes. Turn the burgers over and cook about 5 minutes more, until the second side is browned and the burgers are cooked through.

While the burgers are cooking, toast the buns on the grill and make the chipotle-lime mayo by stirring together the mayonnaise, lime juice, and chipotle in a small bowl.

Spread the top half of each toasted bun with some of the mayonnaise. Place a cooked burger on the bottom half of each bun and top it with a slice or two of tomato, 3 slices of avocado, and a lettuce leaf. Place the top half of the buns on top and serve immediately.
